Actor/comic Richard Pryor specifically sought Vincent Price for the role of an alcoholic mechanic who helps prepare a bus for the film's journey. And when Price was feted at a party planned by the actor, Pryor did not attend (this was about the time his addiction to cocaine nearly claimed his life). Sadly, Price's scenes were cut from the film.
