GUEST GALLERY: SARA WAUGH
Robert Taylor's cousin, Sara, also collects
Vincent Price memorabilia! She and Robert don't compete, however,
when it comes to seeking out and acquiring rare Price items.
Instead, they often coordinate their efforts, resulting in a
stunningly diverse collective collection! Here are just some of
Sara's favorite items, with descriptions in her own words.

Left: The Vincent Price head is one of two made for me by
artist Ray Santoleri, and my cousin Robert Taylor helped me
create the bodies for the figures I wanted. I was so pleased
to be able to find this antique wheelchair which is very
similar to the one Price used in HOUSE OF WAX. It's fun to
have Prof. Henry Jarrod for company when I'm in my Vincent
Price Room!
Right: Here is my HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL figure of the
character Frederick Loren. This was the other Price image
Ray Santoleri made for me. The FLY head is an over-the-head
latex mask I found, and the "raven", of course, speaks for
itself! You can tell that three more of my favorite Price
films are HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL, THE FLY and THE RAVEN!

Left: Here's a closer look at a couple of the lp
recordings--these two are music soundtrack vinyls of THE BIG
CIRCUS and THE WHALES OF AUGUST.

Left: This caricature
"gargoyle" head of Vincent Price was created for the
Svengoolie dungeon set by the talented artists of Acme
Designs of Elgin, Illinois. Our friends at Acme were kind
enough to present me with this one for my Price collection.
If you watch Svengoolie, you have seen the finished
duplicate of this head on one side of Sven's door, and a
Boris Karloff gargoyle on the other side. The Karloff one is
in my cousin Robert's collection.
Right:
I've tried to collect a copy of the many lp recordings made
by Vincent Price--here you see a few of them. My collection
has a number of music soundtracks from various Price films,
and many spoken word recordings like these. Vinnie recorded
a wide variety of things like classic poetry, scary stories,
fine arts information, witchcraft history and even acting
lessons!

Left: This is one of my
favorite photos of Vinnie, which I got from the Price
estate. It was taken on his 18th birthday, his high school
graduation day as well--in 1929. The other photo is a studio
shot from the beginning of his Hollywood career. He signed
it, to his two favorite aunts, with his childhood nickname,
"Bink"!
Right: I
found this Vincent Price figure on Ebay, with no information
as to its maker. It's a beautiful piece of workmanship and I
wish I knew the story of its origin. The small figure in the
foreground is a commercially made one of Price in EDWARD
SCISSORHANDS.

Right: From a local auction house came this wonderful
painted animation cel of Vinnie's character, Professor
Ratigan, from THE GREAT MOUSE DETECTIVE. It's signed twice!
Once as 'Vincent Price,' and again as 'Rattigan'!I never know where
I'll find my next piece of memorabilia!

Left: More from the Vincent
Price estate: the canvas "director chair" back came from the
chair Mr. Price rested in during the filming of EDWARD
SCISSORHANDS in 1990. On the reverse of the canvas is
printed the title of the film. Above the chair-back is one
of Vincent's little watercolor paintings. He did many of
these while resting in bed during his last years. To the
right you can see part of a huge glass Christmas ornament
from Vincent & wife Mary's collection. They loved decorating
for the holidays!
Right:
Another of my favorite Price films is THE TINGLER. This
Tingler replica was made by artist/film fan Paul Schiola.
